Thanks for the explanation. I've hit post, but I realize that the screen is a minute or two "old." The accurate picture of the results of several people typing at the same time comes when the screen is refreshed or made current. Sometimes the time stamp shows that we were a minute apart; sometimes we posted at the same (or almost the same) moment. What a world of instant communication! I can remember when making a long distance call meant booking the call, then waiting for the operator to make the connection. Today, people all over the world are in touch all at the same time. The Russian comedian Yakov Smirnoff's favorite expression is "What a country!" I'd amend it to say, "What a world!"

Thanks Adrian,

Not sure if I can explain it right, but if you were walking from Dunsborough to Meelup Beach, Castle Bay would be the one just before Meelup, next to Castle Rock. You can also access it from Meelup Bay Rd.

I will admit the watermark wasn't the best idea, I'm going to edit those other photos and replace them with fresh unwatermarked ones!

One of the most difficult decisions I've made in my life was to cut my parents from it. There was physical and emotional abuse growing up, but I moved away at 15 and mitigated the worst of that. The largest problem became, after starting my own family, the interference in my marriage and finances. The breaking point came when my father was jobless and I moved him, my mother, and four siblings in with my then pregnant wife, daughter, and myself in a two bedroom apartment. Things became bad quickly and there was very little gratitude, or help, on their end. I kicked them out and then refused to have any contact with them. They've never met their 8 year-old grandson. My life became infinitely saner after that. Unfortunately the seeds of destruction planted by my parents ended up being too much for my marriage. My now ex-wife was forever bitter of those early years when I was trying to help my parents and siblings out. Rightly so, in many ways, but I do wish she could have let it go. There have been moments since that day where I would love nothing more than to be held by mom. Rough patches here and there. It makes me sad that I'll never be able to have that comfort again. It was the right choice, and I'm a better person for having made it finally and for the lack of drama afterward, but there are times when it's lonely.
